We all like to be amused. However, I think using a form of that word to describe one of the most exciting places you can go is a bit of an understatement. Amusement parks should probably be called something more like “adrenaline parks” or “thrill parks”. Well, whatever they are called, there is no question that going to one is one of the most fun ways you can spend a day.
Amusement parks America are many and varied. Some are huge and world renowned while others are small local affairs more closely resembling a permanent carnival. Whichever kind you go to, you will find fun waiting for you there!
The most popular amusement parks in the world are the Disney theme parks. Disneyland, Disney World and the other parks are the top tourist destinations when it comes to amusement parks America. They have rides everyone can appreciate and loads of charm and character as each area has a different theme and each ride has a story to go with it. Everything is kept spotlessly clean and there is great attention given to every detail.
Some other amusement parks are more heavily focused on the rides than the ambiance as you see in Disney parks. They cater to those looking for a moving experience as they ride the attractions. There are a huge variety of different rides for young and old, timid and brave.
Some amusement park rides are extremely basic such as swing rides that simply go around in a circle. Other rides also primarily spin but do so at a much faster speed. Roller coasters might emphasize ups and downs while others loop and twist and turn more. Some are basic carts on tracks and others have the seats connected to a track overhead so you feel completely free air below you.
Of course every good amusement park has more than rides to offer. There have to be restaurants to take a break and enjoy a good meal in, arcades and other games you can play and souvenir shops to go to. Most large amusement parks these days also have at least one water park.
Some entire amusement parks are actually water focused. Water parks also have rides such as rafting rides but they also have many different kinds of fun water slides. There are different kinds of pools to play in including wave pools and some even have surf simulators. Water parks like other amusement parks have a section for small children with rides that they and their parents can appreciate.
These days there continue to be new and improved and ever more adventurous rides being designed. And parks that focus on the atmosphere continue to do it better and better. Going to amusement parks has never been as fun as it is these days.
